P01 Threaded Barrel
« on: October 01, 2024, 06:49:09 AM »
A friend has a CZ P01 (in 9mm) with a threaded barrel for a suppressor.  The nut that protects the threaded end of the barrel comes loose when being shot.  It has to be tighten manually or it would become completely unscrewed.

Can the pistol be shot safely with that thread protector nut removed?  My friends says the the threads would be damaged (eventually) from the blast.

Is there any thoughts about that issue?

The muzzle threads will not be affected by shooting, but are extremely vulnerable to damage by bumping hard objects and the protector should stay in place.

There is a product called "RockSet" intended for high temperature applications that is often used to anchor muzzle devices and would stop the thread protector from moving once applied and installed.

If your friend wants to sell his threaded barrel and buy a standard barrel, I'd be interested in the threaded barrel because I have a suppressor I'd like to use with my CZ's. I use it on a Colt 9mm carbine and a Sig and have not been able to find a threaded P-01/PCR barrel in stock anywhere.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

He could just use an O ring, my TX22 competition SCR came with one and a 9 mm compensator I have also came with 3 (to aid with timing as well as jeep it tight) but any proper sized O ring should be fine.

There are threads here about the o rings and which ones to buy and how to use them.

A search should find them.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
