Do you mean like the Federal Syntech? That’s Polymer coated.

Try PMing Armoredman, I believe he casts and powdercoats his own bullets.

I an running 135s from Blue Bullets, Black Bullets and I recently got a case of 137grain BrassMonkey Bullets.  Loading them with Titegroup.

Titegroup is little smokey but economical.

Not in a P09, but I've been primarily running pc 124 grn. out of all my 9mm (CZ75 included) for years. Precision Bullets is my go to, but Summit does well too (20% off with code BLKCHRYFRI going on now). I really miss Lucky 13 - they were my favorite. Coated are so much cleaner to run than lubed lead and, if they're sized right, barrel leading is virtually eliminated. Don't go too hot with them or you'll start to melt the coating and leading will happen.

I ran thousands of them over Titegroup and found that mid to lower velocities were more accurate. I've pretty much switched to BE86 and Sport Pistol, and both have been great. Medium/medium high loads have been the most accurate, with less smoke too. A friend swears by 231 for his 9mm coated. He buys bare, non-lubed bullets then coats them with Harbor Freight powder and bakes them in a dollar store toaster oven. He really is a cheap SOB.
No matter where you're going, there you are.

I have been using lead-coated bullets for 3 months (125gr and 147gr), now I prefer to use ready FMJ and CMJ bullets from RG Bullets and LOS. The lead bullets left a blue paint residue in the barrel, moderately difficult to clean with a brush.

IMHO, people wanted a better way to shoot lead and not have all the smoke associated with the traditional "bullet lubes" or the issues with free lead dust. About the same time the Hi-Tek coating was invented (which was relatively expensive to start with), people in the US starting playing around with powder coating to achieve the same goals.

Powder coating does encapsulate the lead as planned, but leaves some markers in the bore.

I believe the answer to that question is lower cost per bullet. It could be "powder coated" or the lead may be encapsulated by a substance other than powder coating.  These seem especially popular  with people who shoot competitively using many thousands of bullets per year.

It's fairly common among bullet casters. It does increase diameter but eliminates the need for bullet lube. The general consensus also suggests you can achieve higher velocity without leading as compared to the same load using conventional lead bullet lubes. Being old school I still use a sizer and lube. Haven't made the investment into powder coating and an oven.
