Brand new CZ75B omega convertible broke
« on: February 11, 2022, 10:48:32 AM »
I’m new to this forum and new to CZ but am not new to guns. I have many and have for a long time. Yesterday I got a brand new 75b omega convertible from a seller on gunbroker. I shot about 80 rounds and it was great. About an hour later I was showing the gun to my son and the decocker stopped working. I discovered the plastic spring retainer on the decocking shaft was in pieces.  The decocker will not function. The lever moves but nothing happens. I then removed the decocker and tried to install the safety. I could not get that to work. If I push the left and right side pieces together, it just seems to be bound up and will not function. Thanks for any advice you can provide to me.

I figured out the safety issue. It was simply poor workmanship on the tiny plate on the left side that rides between the spring and the pin. I just took that apart and worked on it some. Now the safety is working. So I guess I am down to now trying to get the broken decocker fixed. Not sure if I should just order a new decocker, or send the whole gun back to CZ to have them get this brand new gun working as it should.

As it’s a brand new pistol, I would send it back for a fix. It also alerts them to any issues with the production line. It’s a relatively easy process with CZ-USA to send it back.

I called CZ this morning. They had me fill out a warranty claim and likely will send me a new decocking lever. They were very nice and helpful on the phone.

CZ was very friendly on the phone and were quick to respond to my warranty claim via email. The new decocker lever arrived today. I installed and it works as it should.
