Tangfolio magazines

I have been told that CZ 97 mags fit the Tangfolio 45. Mine do not click into place, although they are almost identical. Anybody know why?

It's because they are 'almost' identical, and not 'identical'.
If I had to guess, I would consider the most likely culprits to be the length of the tube, and the positioning of the slot for the catch.

Yep, if you stand em side by side and go over every detail, identical. I will mike the length and
see what that produces. A lot of vendors are offering them as interchangeable, I did not find that the case.

Welcome,
its not just miking the length, but where the mag catch is located and also from there to the top of the feed lip.
good luck

My CZ97 mags work fine in the Witness Match .45, the Mec-Gar mags work fine in both (they are labelled as Witness large frame).
But the actual "Tanfoglio" mags don't lock into place on the 97B or BD. The plastic floorplate is a little to high on the top side and keeps the mag from locking in place.

What I have is a new IFG Tanfoglio Defiant Master. I haven't tried its mags in the 97, I have plenty of those. I did order some EAA Witness mags, from CDN, hopefully they will be the real deal. The 97mags, as I said above, won't latch.
