VZ58 and accessory auctions on GunBroker
« on: February 18, 2022, 12:42:03 PM »
So why do about half of the listings for the VZ58 and accessories on GunBroker declare that the item is "RARE"?  Even if there are 5 other listings for the same item.  More of a rhetorical question really, just something that's been bothering me more and more lately.

On a related note, a few weeks back there was an auction on eBay for a NEA handguard set, both upper and lower in really good condition.  I put it on my watch list but when I went to check on it a couple of days later, well before the auction was over, it had disappeared.  Did anybody else see that or know anything about it?  Just curious, but I was pretty disappointed it was gone.

Vz58 stuff can no longer be sold on Ebay due to their AWB ban -- the cleaned up all the variants that were not ARs 2019 IIRC.  If you see something there for the Vz, either "buy now" if available or contact the buyer with your email in your message.  Handguns and single shot firearms are about the only ones that you can still buy parts for on that site -- basically only things California hasn't banned in some form/variant.

One seller on gunbroker lists at lot of Vz58 stuff as rare -- and it is relatively rare as they're the only one in the US really selling it.

Rare is relative, but yes, anything unissued and/or not sold by Czechpoint or Sarco is fair to call rare IMO.

Also, because RARE seems to attract SOME people, and I think TOO MANY vendors believe in using the words for some type of magic.

Too me, if you have to tell me something is rare, I know you don't know what you're doing, and I pass.
