P-01 Upgrade??
« on: February 14, 2022, 09:54:06 AM »
Hi All, A good friend just bought at a LGS a P-01 with some very noticeable upgrades, sights, grip panels, SS guide rod and solid trigger pin. After looking at it and comparing it to my PCR which is very "stock", the trigger feels completely different than the PCR. Is there any way to tell what might have been done inside just by removing the slide and comparing the two side by side. His P-01 has a smooth trigger surface as the PCR has vertical striations on it. Thanks

Probably replaced the trigger, hammer, recalibrated various springs, short reset disconnector.  Contact either CZ Custom or Cajun Gun works. This is a pretty standard upgrade path.

Easiest thing is to post photos of your friend's P-01.  Include the trigger, internals, hammer, hammer spring, etc.  Let the hive mind identify the mods and respond.

Also polishing some of the components helps smooth the trigger pull.

You can check for a replaced hammer, or trigger, by looking at your friend's pistol and checking the various upgrade pieces at the CGW and/or CZ Custom web sites.

Springs?  You'd have to disassemble it and compare the springs to the pictures/descriptions on those same web sites.  I've only used a couple of the CGW springs and they are different (the ones I used) were different in appearance (bends/angles) and sometimes in spring wire diameter than the stock springs.

As previously stated, polishing can do wonders for how smoothly the parts work together.

Springs can make movement of the parts easier.

Dimensions of the parts in certain areas can make differences in pull distance, feel of the trigger pull and hammer release.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
