Shadow thick hammer
« on: March 16, 2022, 10:35:36 PM »
Both shadows2 and sp01 come stock with thick hammer . Cz custom sells their competition hammer upgrade in both thick and thin sizes.(thin will fit all cz’s”s) any advantage to putting the thin hammer in a shadow?

I guess less mass (if it even is), so technically a faster drop with less inertia to overcome or however it works.  But I wonder if anyone would tell the difference in a blind test.

I don't think it makes a difference mechanically. The thick hammer sure looks better though.
I'm guessing it has more to do with having enough room for the fp retainer plate on the Shadow guns. Remember, the wide hammer came first on pre-b's. That said, the Rami slide uses a fp retaining pin like other B models, but can accomodate a wide hammer. Hard to figure what CZ was thinking sometimes.
