Phantom
« on: April 02, 2022, 11:53:29 AM »
A local shop has a used SP-01 Phantom. It comes with 2 19rd mags and a Kydex holster. No box or anything else. It's priced at $599.
Good deal or bad? How does the Phantom rate against other models?

I can't say about the price as I am not from the US.
AFAIK , the phantom came with 2 18rd mags without extensions. So, the mags might not be original. But it doesn't really matter as it accepts all cz75 mags.
As for the rest , very accurate pistol with a bit heavier trigger compared to other spo1 due to the firing block spring.
But with the correct soring set or cgw work, it's a great shooter.
Mine has over 9K ( daily carry), and it's flawless.

My wife bought hers about four yeas ago for $649.

The intention was to have it as a CCW if her XDm wore out.  The XDm is still running strong, but the Phantom has become one of the pistols that go to the range each time because its easy to shoot 6 inch plates at 25 yards.

The only modification made to the Phantom was fiber optic front sight.

I would certainly buy the Phantom you are looking at for the price that's being asked.

Too bad about the box but if you're not a stickler about it not being in the deal, which I am, it doesn't seem to bad of a deal in this day and age. My Phantom gets pulled out of the safe more often than not.

I appreciate your comments. My wife sent me to the store, so I picked the store closest to the gun shop. It was still there.
It's a 2017 model. It's in very nice shape, 2 factory mags that are marked as 18rd mags. It came with a "We the People" that's some kind of camo.  The sights have been blacked out. I haven't decided what i'm going to do with that yet. It has a smooth trigger, light single action.
I got a deal on it, It's mine now.

Great for you. Now start shopping safes because those CZs reproduce like bunny rabbits.

Thanks. I'm afraid there won't be a range day this weekend. I have to go in and work later to cover for a guy who got fired the other day.
I cleaned the gun yesterday. The inside needed alot of cleaning but it's in very good shape.
I will check Dawson for sights.
I've already looked on Ebay for a proper case for it. CZ cases seem to go for $40-50. I always keep my case and paperwork with the gun. My local shops always have guns traded in, some very new models and pricey, and the owners didn't have the box or extra mag, or any accessories.

If you don't want to spring for a case from CZ, you can get MTM cases online from Walmart.
