CZ-USA in Oakhurst Ca.
« on: May 08, 2022, 10:24:35 AM »
Before there was CZ-USA out of Kansas, CZ-USA first landed in Oakhurst California. How long did CZ-USA last in California before moving on to Kansas? I've just seen a picture of a CZ 75 B with the Oakhurst California import address and it's only the second firearm with this address that I've seen. I have a CZ 527 Full Stock in 22 Hornet that has the California import address and that's it in my experience. I've seen more Bauska and Action Arms imported CZ's than California CZ's.

I think it was less than a year before moving to KC

That was sort of my thinking too as in there ABOUT US section of the CZ-USA web site they state "In 1997 CZUB recognized the need to control its own destine in a market as big as the US. Initially based in Oakhurst California, the CZ-USA headquarters and warehouse facility was moved to Kansas City in January of 1998." So, the Oakhurst Ca. location was a year or less, but the two Oakhurst California CZ's I've seen the 75 B photo and my CZ 527 Full Stock both have (19) 95 date marks predating the 1997-time frame. Granted CZ may have just pulled stuff from inventory and shipped it to the States. Just one of those silly CZ factoids that has me thinking about how and when.
