Hi, all. I installed the IDPA legal kit with combat hammer in my 75 BD, and have had one issue after another. I'm new to taking apart things, the weather is lovely for shooting and I'm ready to leave this to a gunsmith who knows CZ. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. Except for suggestions on how to fix it.  Thanks!

You may need to just send it in to CGW. At one time I was looking to have a local shop install a kit here in the Houston area. The only shop I found that would do it wanted $400 just for installation! I was providing the kit.

Thanks; I think you're right. I emailed CGW and the process is in motion. In the end, it's just best to let the folks who sell the parts help me out.

I'd also recommend sending your gun to CGW if you don't want to do the job yourself.

However, I did recall running across this website for a gunsmith in Plano some time ago... it has listed $120 + parts for CZ 75 "Upgrade Package Install and Action Polish".

Ironically the guy's name is "Cajun Gunsmith"... pretty sure there is no relation to Cajun Gun Works.  I have no experience with him as a gunsmith or otherwise.  I think I ran across his site a couple of years ago while searching the local area for firearms training.

i think sending ot to CGW is best for sure. The only thing that annoys me about sending it to CGW is they require it come from an FFL and ship back to an FFL. This is the only shop I have dealt with that requires this. However, I trust them most with my CZs.

When I had my 3 CZs cajunized, I sent it directly to CGW & received it back directly from them. Didn’t need to go through a FFL.

When did this change?

Not sure, but I had set up an SP-01 Tac to go to them for work a couple months ago and that was the requirment.

No, when I got the email from CGW with instructions to send it in, that was a requirement set by them. Around the same time I sent a P226 to Sig for thier service plan and I shipped it direct to Sig and they shipped back to my house.

This is a shop with several gunsmiths located in McKinney, just north of Dallas. Nice guys. I have used them on simple jobs but they also install defensive packages on CZ's. They might fix you up in no time.

On full-on installations, I have been very pleased with CGW (Monroe, La) and C.J Maven (Conway, Arkansas). I live east of Dallas and have driven to both gunsmiths with 4-5 CZ pistols at a time, depending on who was available. I then drive back pick them up when completed. The gas was less than the costs of shipping big batches, I listen to podcasts on the way,  and I don't worry about loss or theft in transit. Both do outstanding work.

I have nothing against CGW doing what they feel they need to do. I just do not prfer using an FFL as it complicates shipping for me and adds cost. Just checked this mroning though and some other places I have sent guns to in the past do not reuire going through an FFL (LTT & Sig). If I was closer CGW I would gladly drive on over and drop some guns off! However, I am 6 hours away. I did think about dropping by there when I was on my way to visit my father in Tenn.

I ended up sending the pistol to CGW, and I simply don't believe anyone else would have done as good a job. The gun came back running soooo smoothly, they must have done some nice polishing in there or something. Plus the folks at CGW are super nice, helpful and quick! Top notch.

I think you made the right choice! CGW is the way to go.
