CZ 75 Compact bullet stuck
« on: September 17, 2022, 09:23:05 AM »

Whenever I am pulling the slide back to insert a new round, the bullet gets stuck as shown in the image above.

I took it to the range a while ago and it worked just fine, though these are hollowpoints compared to the FMJ I shot at the range. Could the ammo be the issue here?

Thank you for the help!

Yes, ammo can be an issue, but more likely from looking at the pic, I'm thinking slowly hand cycling could be the cause or at least a contributing factor. We really need to know what ammo you're using. Also, your gun looks very dry to me. 75's run better when lubricated well.

I agree it could be ammo but riding the slide forward seems the more likely culprit especially if it functions fine in live fire. Try dropping the slide with the release or allowing it to fly forward on it's own inertia (sling shot method).

Thank you for the replies! I apologize for not including the ammo in the original post. The ammo that I'm using is the Hornady American Gunner 115 grain hollow point rounds.

The pictures were taken after letting the slide fly forward by itself, so I'm not sure if that is the issue here. I'll try lubricating it a bit more and seeing if that helps.

If the gun is new Id give it a good cleaning and lubrication and run a few hundred more rounds through it for break in. The Hornady American Gunner ammo uses the old XTP bullet so it should be good to go, should be. I used to handload that bullet years ago when they were cheap and never had the slightest issue with them.

I polish the ramp and sides and top of the chamber entrance on most of my guns.  It helps.

Update:

I ended up giving it a nice clean and lubed it up and it works fine now! Thank you all for the advice!
