P10F slide release

Hi all,
The slide release on my new P10F requires a lot of force to release it. Some say that this will become easier with use but is there anything else I could do?
Any thoughts/comments appreciated.

A number of different semi autos can be hard to release when the mag is empty. Generally they release easier when rounds are in the mag.
Have you tried both to see if there is a difference?

Update.
The gun has quite a few rounds through it and the slide release is noticeably easier to operate. Looks like that was all that was needed!
