I know every barrel is different, but I don’t know if the leade in the shadow 2 is different.  But when I loaded 147 Berrys plated round nose, for my main comp Shadow, the shortest I could go in mixed brass without getting the occasional waist bulge and/or a plonk test failure was 1.140”. I then loaded all these to 1.150 for insurance.  Worked great.

In new starline I could go a bit shorter (deeper) but I didn’t record it in my book…..

So there are variables here, and it could be your single head stamp brass and/or your Shadow 2 barrel leade is more accommodating than my experience.

May I ask your seating depth?

It is a RN and my O.A.L is 1.145 at 1.155 was a no go started to plunk at 1.154 then just reduced c.o.l to 1.145 for safe measure and I've shot thousands of these and level 1 and 2 matches.

Thank you. Every bullet is different. Every barrel is different.

I agree to every barrel is different as well bullet. I tested my load in 3 other shadows and my barrel was 25-40 fps faster than the others. They all have there own personalities.
