Anyone own a judge?
« on: September 13, 2022, 09:25:34 PM »
I’ve had the judge on my bucket list for a few years now. Was at the local shop today and they just got one in with either a 7 or 8 inch barrel. At first I was intrigued but I think it loses its sex appeal and conceal ability.

Thoughts? Would you buy the long barrel or go for the short?
Thanks,

Sean

I have an example of one of the ORIGINAL originals to the concept, The Thunder Five…

Sex appeal? Concealability? LOL 😆 it’s like carrying a large brick.

Probably the highest and best uses of one of these contraptions is with .410 shotshells…on a canoe trip…in case a cottonmouth decides to get friendly and crawl into your boat!

That’s about it.

OK sex appeal may have been a stretch but there's something about that big "Brick" especially the stainless model.

Thanks,

For that type of revolver I would go with a S&W Governor.

I definitely would choose S&W over Taurus any day of the week. I will say i don't think I've ever seen a "Governor" in the case at any of my local shops.
Thanks,

Sean

I've never owned a Judge but I did have a TC Contender  with a 10" barrel chambered for .45 Colt/410. When shooting 410 through it it had a screw in choke that was groved to straighten out the shot that would have otherwise came out like a spiral galaxy due to its rifling. I would shoot clays with it, drawing from its huge holster after the clay was in the air. Very cool.
No target is too large or to close to miss.
