Tell me what I need to know about it if anything special; maintenance,

Well you picked a winner for your first CZ!  The TSO is a custom handfit gun from CZUB.  The barrel and slide are hand fit at the factory.  They are very accurate out of the box with a super light trigger.  I've spent plenty of time figuring out how to increase the pull weight.  They are a purpose built USPSA Limited Division pistol.

The maintenance is nothing special.  I grease sliding surfaces like the barrel lugs, bushing, and slide rails with CGW moly grease (or slide glide).  I oil things that rotate.

9mm CZ's have a short leade and thus not all ammo is going to pass the plunk test.  Make sure you verify the ammo prior to purchasing in bulk.  More info can be found here:  https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=114239.msg888899#msg888899

Awesome pistol!  Congrats!!  You might find that until broken in that using grease may cause you problems due to the tight slide/frame/barrel fit.  I have to run oil on mine for that very reason.

I have one and it is possibly my best comp gun. If you don't know yet, the TSO TS2 uses different mags than the regular 75/Shadow family so keep that in mind as you stock up.

Another question. I read where the 9mm comes with the 16 lb recoil spring installed. I will not be shooting any sort of light reloads etc. So what does everyone recommend for replacement down the road (Wolffe?) and how many rounds? I didn't see anywhere on any of CZ's sites where there is a 16lb spring.

Also, those buffers. Tell me about them, how often to replace, differences in thickness and where do you pick them up?

The TSO takes standard 75 series recoil springs.   CGW, CZ Custom, Wolff, etc sell both stock and lighter springs.

Most folks settle around 11lb for lighter competition loads.  The stock 16lb is good for hotter NATO loads.  Anything in between should work.

The buffers will wear out.   Change them before they start to fall apart.   Some folks don't run them over fear they will come apart and jam up the action.  The clear vinyl buffers seem to last the longest.   I've found they change the ejection distance of spent cases and alter the felt recoil slightly.  I don't think they are required but the factory includes them for a reason.  They are like most cz parts,  they come when the slow boat arrives.

One set of drop downs on their site has: For CZ75 B Models Only/CZ 75/85/97 B models with a 53 series part number.

The other drop down below it has: Recoil Spring for CZ75 Early Models, TZ75/AT84/P9 and Baby Eagle 4.4 inch /CZ75/AT84/P9 With 43 series part number.

You can see these two choices under their CZ recoil spring section. Which one would I select?

You want the 75b series 53 model springs.   This is what I run in my TSO in 40S&W:



Honestly,  I'd pick up a 12lb and a 14lb for your 9mm TSO.
