MAGS: E-LANDER vs ACT-MAG

Hey guys I need a few if these 9mm mags for the sar arms I built on a witness small frame (large frame mags don't fit it)

Anyway I was looking at the 2 cheaper options theyer about 17ish bucks each sane price.. the E-lander is made in isreal so I know they are using it with the Jerichos so I'm leaning that way as that's been somewhat "tested" more then id think the slightly fancier Act-Mag has been tested.. however the act mag has that thicker polymer base plate/cover over ir.. I dunno I'm assu.ing it may be a cover..

My opinion based on nothing...lol would be
 I think the E-lander I'd rather trust my life with then the Act-Mag If I had to make a blind choice based off who made/uses it from my limited possibly misguided judgement.

Anyway tell me what you all think is better that I should go with?

I'm also open with like used mags and trade ins if theres a place that has those.

I'd spend the extra money and get Mecgars. Then you can pretty much guarantee the mags aren't the problem if anything isn't working right.

Yes, MecGar mags are some of the best.

In that discussion, I had tested the ACT-MAG Cz75 Magazines in various Pistols:

I finally made it to the Range to test out these Magazines.  There is roadwork on the way to getting there, so access has been iffy.

Reliability Testing consisted of full Magazine (17 rounds) plus one in the Chamber to start, as sometimes the top round in a full Magazine can drag on the bottom of the Slide.
Testing went very well with no feeding issues in the Pistols listed below:

Tanfoglio TA90B Series 88
TriStar T120
Tanfoglio/RIA MAP1 FS
Tanfoglio/RIA MAP1 MS
SAR B6P

The RIA/Act-Mag Cz75 Magazines were also used in the above listed Pistols for some informal Target and Fun Shooting with no feeding issues.

Not tested was the SAR K2P, as the aforementioned Slide incompatibility issue could not be resolved and therefore, use with the SAR K2P is not recommended.
Instead , use the SAR K2P with the Mec-Gar Cz75B 17 round Magazines.

Also note that the 17 round Mec-Gar Magazine supplied with the TriStar T120 was tested with the other Pistols listed and performed flawlessly.
That TriStar/Mec-Gar Magazine also appeared to be a twin to the Mec-Gar Cz75B 17 round Magazine, right down to the Blue Follower.

Did not know that E-Lander was still making Cz75 Magazines, as I've not seen any for sale, as of late.  The E-Lander Magazines do have a good reputation and I had some with my late Pre-B Cz75, the latter which was sold off to a Collector along with the E-Lander Magazines.

In further casual use of the ACT-MAG Cz75 Magazines, I've not had any issues with them. I do know, that for my own defensive use, I've always carried with the Mec-Gar Magazines, but that may be because they work with my SAR K2P or that the capacity of the 19 round Cz75B Mec-Gar Magazines are called for.  When shooting USPSA/IPSC Matches, I always use the Mec-Gar 19 rounders.

If I needed Magazines and could not get the Mec-Gars, the ACT-MAG 17 round magazines are not a bad way to go. For a typical steel small frame Tanfoglio Pistol, they do work.

So I guess both arnt bad what your saying if your just going against the E-lander vs Act-mag.

They are also the mag that they use with the Jericho and that dies have some military and security contracts around the world including in Israel, that's what made me think it may be better suited and trusted more.

As for the mec-gar mags is get them if I found some good used ones and have been looking but I also need mags for this.. a 45 large frame, m&p 45 and 9, and a fn509 and a fn40  so buying mags for all those is a kick on the gut lol..

For the rest of them I'm already gonna have to go oem however I seen and known the cz75 platform has been around long enough that they went through different own mags over the years and even different company's like iwi/imi  had e-lander probably redesign a mec-gar mag for mass production.. now that can come out as crappy as a p mag but Israel has always had a good record of using mags or even modifing them to work in theyer environment like pinned sten mags.

I believe that you would be correct in that assumption, as the E-Lander Magazines have seen Military use, and I've not heard anything bad about their performance in the field.
The ones I had for my late Pre-B Cz75 never gave me any issues, but I only put about 2000 rounds through that Pistol when I had it.

As for your Large Frame Tanfoglio .45, the Mec-Gar Magazines are really the only choice.

That's exactly my approach - I don't have any issues with cheap Act-Mags (or even ProMags for my Caniks) and use them during range practice.
But in the need of self defense I will always use factory or Mec-Gar mags. Different mags - different purposes. I even marked them differently. This way I keep my factory mags in "vanilla" shape, rarely using them for range practice. And saving couple of $ is always good, you can spend them wisely for something else.
