CZ "Oranges" vs TS2 Blue/Green
« on: October 24, 2022, 01:10:36 PM »
Have read numerous threads about the Shadow 2 Orange and the TSO being hand fit slide to frame at the factory and also that the inside of the slides are "machined" to a much finer degree.

Anyone have input as to whether or not the new TS2 Blue and Green meet the same build specs as the "Oranges"?

It's a bit of an apples to oranges...Ha, couldn't resist.

The TS2 models are not fit like the Oranges, with the exception of the Bronze. The TS2 Bronze has a higher level of hand fitting than any of the others.

Based on the other features I'd get the TS2 Green over the TSO or TS2. Bronze is "nicer", but large price jump and not imported to the U.S. at the moment.

I'm not sure the machining finish is any different between the non orange and orange variants.   The orange (and now bronze TS2) variants have the hand fit parts.   I'm not aware of any other versions that have the hand fit frame to slide or barrel.

Cheers,
Toby

I have both a TSO and TS2 Green. The slide fit is comparable on both of my examples.  The TSO rides a bit smoother but it's well used. They both have about the same amount of negligible wiggle.  FWIW, I shoot both about the same.  My TS2 Green has a cut slide.  Both have SROs for dots.  The TSO dot is on a frame mount.  I'm seriously considering a 2nd TS Green to use with a frame mounted dot if we here in the States can't soon buy the TS2 Bronze.  I think I might end up shooting it better than the TSO.

SEAK, thanks for that update and comparison. On your TS2 Green with the direct mount, who did the slide milling for the red dot?  And did the slide have to get refinished after the milling?

I used the Fire 4 Effect folks to cut the TS2 Green slide. Good experience.  Good communication.  Fast turn around and secure mount.  And yep, they refinish the slide.  I chose graphite black I think, which gets close to matching the CZ black finish.  If I was gonna do it again, I'd send the whole gun in and have them do some fun kinda finish (I had another outfit cerakote my old, 3rd hand, project TSO in pitted, battle worn burnt bronze with graphite black details and graphite black LOk brass grips and bleep, I love it).

Quick update: I'm using both the TSO and TS2 Green in our local indoor centerfire league.  We shoot at 50ft. I'm scoring a bit better with the TS2 Green. I think it has to do with the TS2's slightly beefier grip - I feel like i can get more of my support hand involved plus there's just more to, well, grip, with both hands.  Last night was our last shoot of our 1st 5 week comp.  Looks like I took 2nd place over-all, 2nd place in optics and 2nd place for X's.
