CZ p09 as a Suppressor host?
« on: October 26, 2018, 11:32:26 PM »
I bought a plain black (Duty) CZp09, No threaded Barrel or Tall sights. A Barrel is on the short list of items to get.

My question lies with the recoil spring and guide assembly, Are they the same between the two versions of the pistol?
would it be good to have a heavier spring and who has those?

I ask because HK has a special RSA for the suppressed pistols (USP 9) and I bought a heavier .40 cal spring to run in my sig p226 9mm.

Please feel free to post up picture's of your suppressed p09/07 and talk about how you like the p09/07 as a host.

I realize our guns are different but..

I had 3 CZ pistols and I was in the same situation as you.  Reading about how much of a pain it is to change sights on a CZ 75, how a barrel has to be fitted, and wondering about other internals, I found it more convenient just to buy a Suppressor host.  I do believe the recoil springs are the same.

I did the spring kit for the 3 CZs I have plus changed to SS Guide rods.

I have both a P07 and a P09.and shoot both suppressed without a problem.  Fitting a barrel is very easy.  Go slow and file a little at a time and you will be good.  I did not change the springs and everything worked fine.  Caution the can get very hot so I carry oven mitts in my bag.  Good luck!

I was thinking about getting the suppressor ready P07 but I don't want the tall sights and I'd end up getting the non threaded barrel anyway, so I'd just have to see what's a good deal at the time I'm ready to jump. Or even more likely, I'll tell myself "No more guns this year", and someone will have a sale, and I would jump on it.  Great picture's.

That's good to know about the fitting, I've never done it. I've been running rifle cans for a few years and one time I tried to take a hot YHM Phantom off my sbr with an oven mitt designed for oven use and it instantaneously melted and adhered to the out side of the can. I pulled it off but tufts of oven mitt were stuck all over that can. It looked tarred and feathered. For years I was pulling bits of oven mitt off it.

Interesting thread.  I have a P-09 Suppressor Ready and when using it with my Rugged Obsidian 9 I notice 1) it shoots fantastically, but 2) I get a fair amount of blowback, more so than my P320.  Maybe it's because my P320 has a RMR and it might be deflecting some of the gasses, or the fact the P-09 is hammer fired so perhaps that has something to do with it with regard to gasses blowing back through the slide.  Curious if anyone has experienced this with the P-09.

Also, I installed a 18lb hammer spring as part of the Cajun upgrades (left the recoil spring stock), and noticed brass ejection when suppressed is certainly more than when unsuppressed.  The pistol seems to kick brass farther away with the 18lb hammer spring as opposed to the stock 20lb spring, but really kicks out the brass now when suppressed.  Are there any concerns with regard to undue frame or parts wear given a 18lb hammer spring and suppressed shooting of the P-09?
