Looking 4 Advice On CZ
« on: November 27, 2022, 09:18:24 PM »
Hey guys

I’ve been out of the gun game awhile and have some questions.

With it being a few years since I’ve been in the gun game and with the world changing with Covid and supply chain issues etc - is CZ still the same quality and reliability it’s always had? Have there been changes that impact these CZ’s negatively?

I’m pretty sure I wanna get a CZ. Looking at P-07 primarily but P-10C & P-01 are also in the running.

Talk to me about pros and cons about each (mostly P-07 & P-01) beyond the usual general stats.

From my experience- CZs remain the same quality wise.  Think you’ve selected some good options to choose from.

Of the three choices, I prefer the P01- mine is an omega, but I also have a PCR.  I also have a P10c & P09.  I’ve shot them all in my IDPA games and all served me well.  My feedback is below, but think you need to ask 2 Qs- do you want a hammer gun or striker?  Do you want metal frame or polymer?  These are preferences & only you can choose.  If you were local I’d offer you the chance to shoot them & see what works best for you.

To me, the P01/PCR size is the best balance of ergos, accuracy, capacity and carry ease.  Every time I shoot another gun for a while and retry my CZs, I go back to them.  They just work best for me.  Aftermarket grip panels are available to help adjust the grip , especially with those with palm swells.  I prefer hammer guns the more I use both hammer and striker.

The P09, while larger then the P07 has similar ergos.  It’s superbly accurate and reliable.  Like my P01 Omega it can swap from decocker to manual safety.  That said, the P01/PCR has better ergos for me.  YMMV.  As with the P10 you can adjust the grip w/ replacement back straps- to me not as good as the grip panels with metal framed guns.

My P10c is a very, very good striker gun,  and it’s one of my favorites but in the end I prefer hammer guns. I’ve had/ have SiG P320s, M&P, XD, Glock, PPQ.  It fits me well.  The P10’s advantage IMO is cost.  Mine is also accurate and reliable.

Good luck in your search.  You can’t go wrong with either IMO.  Let us know what you decide.

If you're just getting back into guns I'd recommend the P10C optics ready for the following reasons.

1.  It has robust aftermarket support.  If you're not happy with how it shoots, you'll easily find upgrades for every component.  And there are a wealth of options for holsters and other accessories.

2.  Even if you don't want to run a reddot right away, trust me you'll want that option in the future.

3.  It's very easy to field strip and clean.

With all that being said, you should go to your local range and try a few different rentals before you buy anything.

Not sure how long you have been away, but I did not discover my love for CZ until 2016. From then until now, I see no issues in quality. As stated before I think the main question for you is DA/SA or striker fired. I have had several P07s and now have 1 P07 and 1 P01 Omega. Both are outstanding. The trigger pull quality out of the box can differ greatly from gun to gun with the P07. The  great thing is the omega trigger system is easy to work on.

As for the P10 series, I have never had one. I actually just purchased on due to the price I found it for and the $50 rebate going on right now through CZ. That is another thing to consider if it matters to you. CZ has a $50 rebate for the P10, P07 and P09 right now.
