How Accurate Are CZ Rifles?
« on: May 31, 2003, 07:38:40 PM »
I am in the market for a new deer gun (Whitetail). I was looking at a Remy 700 BDL. It was a custom run made for AccuSport. My local shop has one in .270 (my preferred chambering) and it is a matte finished, synthetic stock with no sights. No, it is not an ADL, it has a jeweled bolt and a trap-door magazine.

Anyway, I was looking at some of CZ's offering's and wondered how they compared to the Remy. I was interested primarily in out of box accuracy and overall quality.

Also, do these guns require special scope mounts? If so, which? Are the barrel's free-floated? What about the Mannlicher style guns?

Thanks for the help.

Tell you what friend, for many years I was a diehard Remington fan, hell I knew a number of folks who do, or did, work there in Ilion. But over the last 10 years or so the quality has really gone dowhill. It was my dissapointment with their quality that got me looking for a new maker, and that maker is CZ! I would put a CZ rifle, out of the box, up against any Remington any day, no problem. And CZ's quality is second to none period! I never thought, honestly, I'd see the day that I would turn away from Remington. But I have, and I'll never look back. The Rems are still a very accurate OOB rifles. But the quality issue I can't deal with. You will not be dissapointed in the CZ.

I have a CZ 550 fs. the gun s finish is way better than
a out of box Rem, I know I have Rem mtn rifle in 280 rem
I would compare the CZ FS to the Steyr FS  as to the fit and finish, have wanted to buy another FS in 280
impossible to find Styer for less than $1000, can buy
CZ FS in 7x64 and have gun smith chamber for 280
cost total around $600. please do not let CZ know
that there FS beat Steyr buy more than half price
any way I do not know of any US made rifle that can compare to the CZ, may be sad to admit but I will go
CZ for all my next rifles. and have you ever tried the single set trigger,? not availble on US made. this trigger makes the CZ worth more alone than any US made rifle
Buy one there like Lays  potato chips You cant stop with one

My first rifle was a Remington 700 ADL deluxe.  It is a beautiful older model that I love.  I finally found ammo it likes and it shoots it very well.  I got a CZ 550 in 270 and it shoots anything I put into it well.  The recoil pad is a pachmeyr decellerator and it allows me to shoot all day without the slightest twinge.  If you go to any generic gun \ hunting forum and look at what owners are saying you will see that, to a man, all repeat what was said in an earlier reply to your question - it is now a better product than Remington offers and consistently more accurate than just about anything.  There are manufacturing reasons they are better - not just owner pride talking.  They are a real bargain right now and a perfect white tail piece.

My .30-06 CZ ZKK600 Standard (model that preceeded the 550) will shoot 3 shot MOA off the bench with factory ammo.

Needless to say I am very pleased and impressed. :)
