Hi everyone,
So, impulse buy at the LGS today. They had a pretty nice SAO IMI 941F Israeli police gun with the star on it.
I racked it and dry fired it in the store and all seemed good. But I discovered when I got home that about 75 percent of the time, it cannot be cocked by pulling the hammer back . . . hammer will not lock back most times. When it does cock without racking, there is no half cock, and the hammer will drop sometimes if jarred from the side.
Racking it always cocks it. I took the slide off and discovered it cocks fine with the slide off (and half cock is also present).
Any ideas on what could be causing this? I'm hoping it is maybe just an old spring in the internals somewhere. Never had a gun do this before.
The internals of the gun look great. It has holster wear outside, but no wear inside. One odd thing is it has a CZ proofed barrel. But the barrel is definitely for the Jericho . . . it has polygonal rifling.
I lack vocabulary on the parts inside this thing, but it seems the whole sear housing assembly may be sitting a bit high and thus contacting the bottom of the slide. I can push down on it and it has a bit of downward motion.
I think the fact that it is touching the slide may be causing the issue, since the gun cocks normally with the slide removed.
Thanks,
