Cz custom short reach trigger install question
« on: January 19, 2023, 07:33:14 PM »
Installed the new Cz custom short reach trigger kit in my cz custom sp01 shadow black . Works with the slide off but when I put the slide on the hammer won’t drop in single action after I pull the trigger it’s stuck back. Filed the inside of disconector reassembled and no change…should I keep filling the inside of disconector a little at a time till it fits or something else? The new disconector looks almost exactly the same as the original pre b disconector. So I’m wondering if the trigger may need some work also? Who has tried installing one of these kits? I’ve installed the Cajun gunworks pro package on several cz’s and all I had to do was adjust the screws on the trigger to solve this problem. But there are no screws on the Cz custom trigger.

Is the trigger bar return spring seated properly on both sides of the trigger bar? It is difficult to diagnose installation issues without more details, pictures, or video.

Checked trigger bar springs were normal. Every thing functions normally until I put the slide on then I think the extra pressure on the sear cage is binding up something and won’t let the hammer fall in single action .

I don't know how you can check the da/sa function without the slide on.  Without pictures or a video, it is impossible to say that everything is installed properly.

So I put the original disconector back in with the new short reach trigger and the trigger would not go far enough forward to reset.it is I little thicker in front . May need to remove some frame material In front of the trigger. Will research more before I start grinding more. Put all original parts back in and works great.will contact cz custom for info on fitting this trigger and disconector.

Finally got back to working on this project. Had to grind a good amount off the disconector an d then it would barely reset in single action.took off a few more thousands and polished up real good and it works perfectly! Probably put together 10-12 times before I had enough off the disconector.ant the short reach trigger without any screws is great. The reset is a bit shorter than the pre b I removed from the sp01 shadow.very satisified

I reccomend taking a little more off the disconnector. If you are right on the edge of resetting, it could cause problems once the gun gets hot/dirty.
