Trying to switch to the safety on my P07
« on: April 08, 2023, 05:21:29 PM »
I've watched several videos on how to do it and they all do it so easily by just pushing the left side decocker switch out while holding the ejector down.

For me the left decocker switch pops out slightly and no matter what I do, I can't move it further. What am I missing here?

All but one of the videos I watched showed the hammer being fully cocked while taking the decocker out. I tried placing the hammer in all 3 positions but nothing worked to take it out.

Here's one of the videos I watched.

Sometimes it just takes getting things in the right position but it will come out. Have you tried this one?

I ended up taking it to a gun smith who said a lot more of the pistol needs to come apart to take the decocker off because the trigger bar needs to come off too.

I can't tell exactly what he is doing in the video though but he put his screwdriver between the spring and ejector and said he turned something there, what I don't know.

Well I hope it works when you get it back from your 'gunsmith". The trigger bar spring should be disconnected but the trigger bar remains in the frame. Clearly you "gunsmith" has never done a CZ P-07/09. Good luck.

I've swapped decockers (out of the box they have the decockers installed) to safeties on two P07s, two P09s, three P01 Omegas and never done more than follow the instructions in the owner's manual - which says nothing about taking anything out of the frame other than the two decocking levers and the spring that goes with them.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

You can remove and install the decocker and or safety all day and night without removing the TB.  IF your “smith” said that I’d get my pistol back asap.
