P10 OEM striker good to go?
« on: April 06, 2023, 11:58:53 AM »
I couldn’t resist current prices on P10’s and grabbed a P10C OR. Happy to say the trigger slap issues I had on my gen 1 don’t seem to be present on this one, and I’m loving this thing.

That said, back in the first gen, there was talk of the MIM striker being a weak point and recommended replacing with a tool steel CGW. Is that still the case, or just bad early striker batches?

Aside from an Overwatch trigger shoe (just because I prefer flat face), I’m planning to keep this stock unless there are recommended reliability upgrades like the striker.

Thanks!

I don’t recall any issues noted recently on the forum in re to issues with the strikers.

I have a P10F that was bought last April with around 2500 rounds on the clock. No issues.

Have a Gen 2 with lots of rounds and a newer OR mode. Both no issues. The HBI trigger is a nice upgrade.

Can’t remember if it was here or elsewhere, but there had been reports of the tip breaking off. And those may have been from heavy dry fire w/o snap caps. But regardless that was a long time ago so if there hasn’t been more said then I’m guessing it’s not an issue at this point. So I’ll run with the OEM, thanks!

Good deal, thanks! I noticed CGW’s trigger is very similar to HBI’s now, almost went that route but the Overwatch seems to be a little closer shaped to my other pistols.

Two P-10Fs with tons of live fire (combined total close to 20K rounds) and probably 5X dry fire trigger pulls without OEM striker failures.  I do always use snap caps with a cushion for the firing pin.

I have seen issues with both OEM and aftermarket strikers .... this was mostly in the past, but I have seen it recently with pistols that were dry fired alot, although my experience is anedoctal..

My two previous P10Fs had several thousand rounds on them with zero issues on the Overwatch Striker.

I just acquired a P10C of a match prize table and we will see how this one does
