Chiappa MC 27 E (made by Girsan)
« on: July 23, 2016, 08:09:26 PM »
Just put one on layaway. Looks to be of excellent quality. Appears to be a cross between a CZ and a Sig with maybe a little Beretta thrown in. Made in Turkey. I'm reading that it will use a S&W 5900 magazine. I'm about to order one to find out. Anyone have one that can advise me on them?

Interesting!  :)  Reminds me of the Spanish STAR pistols. Just enough Cz75 design to make into the Clone Section here.

I have two Astra A75's-a 9mm and a 40SW and they look remarkably similar to this pistol. Great pistols but they are both the steel frame version (really heavy) and single stacks( 8 round mag in 9mm and 7 in the 40).

Slide runs inside the frame like a CZ but feels like a Sig in the hand. Will use Sig P229 holsters. They seemed to borrow a little here and a little there and came up with what is a fascinating to me design. Just ordered two S&W model 5900 mags (15 & 17 rounders). They are supposed to fit. Hope so!

I have this one in my night stand with a tactical flashlight laser combo on it . I could not resist the price and it shoots great . I got mine about a year ago, double action pull is not bad ,the only issue that I had was the front sight was too tall , to correct point of aim verse impact zone I had to take a bit off the front sight and touch up the finish. I liked it so much I made it my night stand pistol.

Interesting indeed. Reminds me more of the S&W 5906 that my brother gave me once upon a time; really wasn't a good fit for my hands and too bulky (to me) for concealment.

Fun fact: The S&W model 5900 magazines also fit the Marlin Camp 9 carbine  :)

Yes, they most certainly do!  I have kept mine fed with Mec-Gar S&W 5904/6 15 round Magazines, but I will probably wind up ordering some 20 rounders soon!

Have you tried a CZ mag in the camp 9?  They work in the SW version of sub2000.

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

Did S&W 5900 series magazines work with the gun?
