New P-10s back for warranty work
« on: July 03, 2023, 01:57:07 PM »
Just picked up one of the PSA Dads’ Day P-10 specials. Czech-made, so not optics-ready.

When reseating the slide, the central section of the recoil spring was falling to reset. Sometimes jamming up the trigger and sometimes resetting. Also the trigger was not working smoothly except from the rest. Also on examination appeared to be tool marks on the trigger and slide stop.

Didn’t notice these until I had the gun stripped for cleaning.

CZ sent me a prepaid return label right away. We’ll see what happens.

CZ has it now. I was a little disappointed in the trigger, not as smooth as the P-10c I had a while back. Accuracy wasn't bad at 7 and 10 yards, all within a four-inch circle except for a couple of fliers. Shooting Blazer 115 gr. and Federal 124 JHP.

This exact thing would happen to me every time I replace my spring after cleaning.

I would simply just keep re-setting the spring until I got it right. Are you saying this is a manufacturing defect?

I’m watching this thread for the noway resolution (the PSA deal was on my cart).
I would simply just keep re-setting the spring until I got it right… If I may interject, for self-defense it needs to function the first time – Yes, it is a defect.

It's like Christmas Eve, waiting for the report from the gunsmith...

Maybe if I had put some cookies in the box with the gun?

4-6 weeks turnaround. They just updated, telling me it’s in the queue.

I will bet they will replace the recoil spring, trigger and slide stop, and then test fire it, and done. But we’ll see.

Or not.  ;)

That didn’t take so long! Twelve days from receipt to this notice.

Work Performed: Adjusted frame for better trigger fit and function. The slide stop and trigger looks normal, the marks you are seeing are probably from standard deburring at the factory. Functions checked and test fired good with CCI Blazer 9mm 115gr FMJ. Notes: Make sure the recoil spring is sitting flush in the half moon cut out on the bottom of the barrel to prevent the recoil spring from binding in the slide during reassembly. Be sure you are fully depressing the trigger safety when firing to prevent trigger hang-ups.

Shipping today, due back Monday. We'll see if it made a difference (hoping)...

It’s back. Trigger function is better, although not as good as my old P-10c. Next up, range report.

I was going to suggest that you make sure the spring is sitting in the right location on the barrel upon reassembly. I just picked up my P 10S, field stripped it and cleaned it. And I did the same thing with the center of the spring sticking out. I took the gun back apart, reinserted the spring in the proper location, and it worked fine.

That was possibly the issue shown in the photo. As far as the trigger, that definitely needed something. Anyway, probably my last CZ for a while. Depending of course...

Yeah I get that! GOOD LUCK with anything else though I'm saying the same thing about a recent Beretta purchase.
