I've been shooting all sorts of rifles since the 60s, but I never gave much thought to 22 ammo.  I just bought whatever Remington offered in HP 500 round boxes mostly.  I have my mind set on a CZ with the 16 1/2" barrel that I'll outfit with a scope for sparrows, rodents and other critters.  (Finally getting a better quality 22)   So which ammo would you suggest I start with?  I see Norma does have 1 that's labeled for hunting and since most of my distances are going to be inside 50 yards I do not need screaming fast.  HP or SJHP is what I used to buy in Remington or CCI but one box was the same as others except for bullet weights.  I could write volumes of what I don't know about rimfires.

Thanks
Dave

I use Federal Auto Match for bulk ammo shooting. Works well in all my rifles.

.22's are funny.  Not haha funny.  Different.  What functions and shoots well in one isn't worth buying for another.  See if you can find a place to buy 50 round boxes of several different bullet brands/types and try them out for accuracy and feeding into the chamber without hangups.

Rodent?  What size rodents?  .22 shorts can be very accurate and will dispatch squirrels and rabbits DRT (Dead Right There) with an accurate rifle/shooter and head shots.  And they are way quieter than .22 long rifle ammo.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
