Last year I sold my 97B, it was a California model because that’s where I lived when I bought it. I needed money and a lot of firearms went on the chopping block. Almost immediately I had a thought that I made a bad decision selling the 97B. Almost a year later and I still miss that gun. Only gun I’ve regretted selling.
I am quite the CZ fanatic. Not crazy like someone who only buys CZs, but I have multiples of CZ firearms where other brands I have 1 or 2. At the time I sold my 97 I didn’t know they were being discontinued. That made me wish I had kept it even more.
This gun got me into 45 acp. Awesome cartridge. My only complaint about the 97 is the 10rd mag. I understand they made the gun during a mag restriction era but I would be they could make 12 or 13rd mags that fit without modifying the gun. The SAR K2 45 holds 13 rounds.
What I’ve always really wanted was an older blued 97. I just couldn’t find one in CA, and I bet if I did it would have been way over priced. However, I’ve been thinking about the K2. It’s got more capacity and a rail. Maybe when we have the money I will just buy both. The 97 as a collector and the K2 for the range.
The only 45 gun I have currently is an FNX45T. That gun is crazy fun to shoot.
