The rumor about Lake City is false
« on: November 02, 2023, 05:30:31 PM »
Apparently the rumor of Lake City cancelling civilian sales is just that, a false rumor. The linked article has the actual social media statement from lake City, but I will quote it here;
Quote
Joint Munitions Command has not changed its policy regarding commercial production at Lake City. Lake City has not cancelled commercial contracts.

I was able to order M855 ammo yesterday from MidwayUSA, so the "run" isn't as big as some people keep claiming. Also, the local CAL Ranch store was well enough stocked to buy powder, primers and bullets yesterday as well.

Rumor mongers are gonna be the death of me...

Yes, my understanding is that it was a fake rumor put out by some misinformation blog that only had a few posts in the last few years. Unfortunately, it was quoted by a reputable website.

True or not and glad ya got your ammo, but looks like with shipping & tax your way over $700 bucks for 1K of 556! Are you gonna shoot it or store it with your gold bullion? Sure, looks like the sellers are believing it. Glad I reload. Something fishy is going on that's for sure.

All the BS “mis and disinformation” is gettin old. So tired of all these losers sewing frustration and confusion. Truth is about the rarest commodity right now.
