Sure, a milled slide is "better", but I've used a dovetail sight mount on a 97B"E" for nearly 10 years and maybe 10k rounds of bullseye and 100/200 yard demonstrations without a single problem and with no change in zero. If one knocks the gun/sight around or carried it where it might get knocked it might move, but a range gun carried in a bag where it is protected, assuming the installation was good, seems perfectly fine to me.
