Well, on my V-MTR I have both screws at 20-inch pounds, though 5-10 i-pounds more might be 'correct' for your rifle? As for "MAX", since the rifle has 'poly pillars' I wouldn't go over 35-40, but that may cause too much flex on the receiver. And the pillars showed 'impressions' on my rifle when I got it. I can't 'correctly use my Wheeler 'manual' Fat Wrench to check torque when 'un-screwing' so I don't know what it was set at, but it was 'pretty tight'. I had to 'shave' off wood with a sharp chisel around the pillars to 'set free' the receiver there.
As for tightening sequence, I first 'snug' BOTH screws with the receiver pulled 'back' into the recoil lug. I then tighten the Rear screw next to 20 i-#, then the Front. I don't know if the actual F-R sequence matters. Maybe someone can provide 'Real Info' to that ??
BTW, I (and many others) have found SK/Lapua ammo to be most accurate in my rifle. It seems the MTR Chamber is very compatible with those 'flavours'. Eley does well, but Not AS well. Other brands are a matter of LUCK.
