CZ Parrot value?
« on: December 23, 2023, 09:08:57 AM »
Saw this at a gun shop the other day. Asked the proprietor about the high price and his reply was "And it's darn well worth it."
Is it?

I'm not disputing the quality of the CZ Parrot. It undoubtedly is one of the best competition pistols out there, although it's due for an update.

While the price he's got it listed for is probably close to norm, it's a bit high from what you can find if you shop around.  Even gunbroker has Parrots for around $2999.  If you want the less colorful all black Czechmate version, I've seen those in the $2500+ range.

I would say the price is right, and well worth it but only if you hand load your own ammo.

Getting the just right amount of gas to allow the brake to be of real value takes some experimenting.

The Parrot using my TSO ammo shows no noticeable value to the gun.

The trigger and accuracy of both the Parrot and TSO are very similar.  I can't sense any difference.

If you can afford the Parrot, and are into hand loading, I would say jump on that deal.

The price is high based on recent listings that i have seen. I paid $2,950 for my parrot last December. The trigger is amazing and you will not regret purchasing it. I have fed mine factory ammo (115 grain and 124 grain) and have not had any misfeeds or other issues. I do not compete and mine is used at the range.

In California that would be a good deal. I've seen them advertised for 5k or more.
