So here's what I have:
Shadow 2 Orange optics-ready
Holosun 507C X2 Red Dot
CH Precision CZ-SDW2-RSH-GDT Adapter Plate
Simple problem: The mounting screws aren't long enough. The CH Precision adapter plate included a bag of screws specific for the Holosun (4-40 x .280 FHB), but they aren't long enough. When placing these screws through the Holosun base plate and the CH adapter plate, only 1/16" of the screw shank protrudes below the adapter plate with 2-3 threads exposed. That's not going to work.
Apparently others have had this same problem, but with adapter plates from other manufacturers. The common solution that I've seen is to use M3-8mm screws. But I've not seen any specific screw recommendations that specifically mention the CH Precision CZ-SDW2-RSH-GDT adapter for the Shadow 2. I have no idea how much the adapter plate thickness varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and whether M3-8mm is going to work with the CH plate.
If anyone has any experience with this combination and has information regarding the proper screw specifications, please add your comments.
