EPS for PCR or P-01?
« on: April 16, 2024, 10:24:51 AM »
Just received my work order from CGW to get my PCR slide milled for a red dot. I already have a PCR and a P-01 with the EPS Carry red dot. I have a couple of other pistols with red dots with larger windows and really like those. I have no issues with the EPS Carry on my CZ's, they are my edc pistols.

Anyone have any experience with the EPS on their PCR or P-01, like or dislike? Is the increased window size not worth the extra overall width?

Thanks in advance,

Jack

My only EPS Carry optic is on an M&P Shield 3.1" 9MM.

Window size is not an issue for me.  The optic is designed to put a dot on a target and it does that regardless of window size.

Practice till you get it right (pulling the pistol and raising it up to point at the target and your mind/body work together to have the dot aligned on the target when your body stops moving the pistol.

Shoot with both eyes open and the window size is even less of an issue (I don't and I really need to start practicing that).

I like the smaller size of the K series (talking width/length) vs. the bigger dot optics anyway.  Just had an older 1.0 M&P milled for a K series Holosun and it looks great with no overhang on both sides of the slide.

I bought the EPS carry for two reasons.  Sooner or later I was going to need another small dot optic and to see if some claims about them not working on a Shield Plus were accurate.  It did run out of upward dot adjustment exactly at the point where it was zeroed at 5 yds.  But that was okay as it worked.

Good luck with your dot optic choice.  For me they work really well (old guy with glasses who wants to be able to shoot even if my glasses fall off).
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I too am happy with the EPS carry. Have it on my Rami and is much easier for my older eyes than using a short sight radius iron sight. Have a 407k on my P365x and it works well too but gets lots of lint so may be going with an EPS carry on it down the road as well.  My current nightstand pistol is a SP-01 Tactical (I posted a pic in M1A4MEs thread about the M&P) and it has a 507k.  Works really well and that slide is just a hair wider than a PCR slide. I personally don’t care for the optic hanging over the side of the slide but you do you.

I am currently running a 507comp on my P10c that I use for Thursday night action shooting and that window is HUGE!

Thanks for your views! I am fine with the eps carry window size was just thinking about increasing it. I went ahead and ordered the carry. If it's not broke, don't fix it!

Thanks again,

Jack

I  have the EPS on my Cajunized P-01 and I love it.  I have old eyes and I think I pick up the dot faster with the larger window
