CZ 512 Muzzel Crown
« on: May 24, 2024, 09:16:16 PM »
Hello - I was just oiling my CZ 512 tactical and I put the nozzle of the oil bottle slightly inside the muzzle to drop some oil in the barrel. Would I have caused any damaged to the crown ?

Thank You in advance for your insights !

1) Welcome from Georgia.

Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with all the sticky posts in the 'New Members' section. Together with the Help Topics in the 'Important Information !' or 'FAQ' sub-section, these include 'how tos' such as 'how to' post pictures on the forum.

2) Not unless your oil can removed metal or left a dent.

You don't need to do that. The wax coating on your ammo "coats" the barrel as you shoot. If you are unsure that your ammo is leaving enough (or that your barrel is getting enough) "bullet wax", then start dipping the bullet-end of your ammo trays into Lee Alox or some other bullet lube intended for cast lead bullets. There are dozens of good lubes.

Besides, a big slug of oil in the barrel could cause issues.
