Magazine Guide or Magazine Brake?
« on: May 21, 2024, 08:56:11 AM »
Folks, many hours of discussion have been lavished on the subject of CZ75B magazine brakes.  We want to brush aside the philosophical aspects such as who wins the gunfight based on drop free vs retained magazines.  Apparently there are 2 different parts that will fit a full size CZ75B.  Only the drop free spring is listed on CZ-USA.  Is the alternate spring also available from CZ-USA?

Congratulations to the genius who created this USA part with the curved tail.  That is mechanically pushing your luck to reassemble this thing.  Not impressed.  A short video on assembling just this one part would be helpful.

Thanks,
OW

I manage to stuff a magazine brake/guide up into my 97BD frame during a magazine change.  I have since upgraded the magazine guide to a heavy duty unit.  Both CZ Custom and CGW are out of stock at the moment.  In my google search for a online vendor that has them in stock I came across the Springer Precision mag guide.  It looks beefy and looks to be retained by the grip screws.  Another option to replace the thin spring steel brake.

I remove them.  My P07 and P09 pistols have exposed springs/guides so I figured the CZ75/P01 would be okay, too.  No issues with that so far.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Like bigdave said, just cut that little curved tail off.  You don't need to buy anything.
