P07 trigger problem
« on: June 09, 2024, 03:46:10 PM »
Hey guys!  Newbie to the site here. I’ve got a couple of P07s and a P09 and I love them. One of my sevens was purchased used and worn. It shoots accurately but sometimes the trigger can be depressed all the way to the rear without releasing the hammer. It happens while shooting. When at home, if I rack the slide hard I can often get the trigger all the way to the back without dropping the hammer. Usually if I press real hard at that point it will drop. When firing and it happens, you have to rack the slide and eject a round to keep going. What part is likely worn out that would make that happen?  I’ve replaced Glock triggers and some others but I have never monkeyed with the CZs. I plan to disassemble and clean the trigger tomorrow so I wanted to know what to look for and what advice yall had before I do that. Thanks for any help!

Here are some videos that you might find helpful.  These are for disassembly/reassembly of the P-09/07 pistols.

I had an issue similar to this on my p07.  Randomly once per 200 rounds, the trigger would move freely, but the hammer wouldn't drop.  I suspected that the trigger bar was sticking to the frame, thus failing to reset, so I polished the trigger bar where it rubs against the frame.  I also changed the trigger bar spring.  The problem went away.

Since you dont know the history on that P07, but it seems it has been shot a lot, I would do a refresh and install all new springs and go from there.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Checkif trigger bar spring is in place - turn pistol upside down and pull trigger.  if it works, follow Joe L videos to reset. if not, the trigger bar is probably slipping off the disconnector - talk with CGW guys.

Any time i have a reliability issue with a self-defense gun I send it to the factory for repair.  I don't remember if CZ does this forever for free like some others, but I will happily pay for the comfort of knowing it is fixed right.
