I took the P-10C out on Tuesday to shoot at 100 yards after not going for 8 days. That was enough of a break for me to have a mediocre result--8" five shot sequences instead of 4". Typical for me if I miss more than 4 or 5 days in a row without picking up the gun. (yes, some dry fire would help). So I planned to go back on Thursday morning to shoot some "good" targets.
Problem is I took a tumble while walking the dog and landed hard on my shooting arm shoulder. After making sure I hadn't broken my collar bone and that I had some range of motion, we finished our walk and returned home. I skipped the range session because I couldn't pick up a Diet Dr. Pepper can, much less a loaded P-10C. Licked my wounds, alternated ice and heat a few times during the day and then hoped I could sleep in the bed instead of in a recliner. Much better on Friday morning!
I used to race bicycles when I was younger. I took a lot of spills and have a list of collar bone, rib, shoulder injuries to show for it. But I was 20-50 years old then, not 75. It makes a difference! I should be ok by Tuesday of next week, so I may just try that dry fire thing with the MantisX over the weekend, maybe while watching the Olympics. If I have a good day next Tuesday, I may make a video comparing a mediocre day to a good day.
Another thing I learned--my friends all look taller when I'm moaning lying on my back on the pavement looking up at them.
