Post your topic in the right forum or kiss your thread goodbye
« on: October 06, 2020, 10:34:01 PM »
I (and the other moderators) are going to delete without notice posts in this and every other  forum that are not posted in the correct sub-forum. Every time I log in, I have to move two or three or more such posts. It is not my job to move your posts to the right forum if you are too lazy to post them correctly in the first place. It is not much to ask: Look down the list of sub-forums and post your topic in the right one.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Thanks for the input. There is an extensive FAQ forum, stickies in the New Members Forum, stickies in the Classifieds Forum, yet...again and again, I and the other Moderators have to point them out, correct posts, remove or reposition posts, etc, etc. If people want to be members of this forum it behooves them to read the manual. It's not my job, or that of the other moderators to read every. single. post. and make sure it conforms. If the poster in question gets their feelings hurt and decides not to continue their membership, then maybe they should have read the guidance in the relevant forums mentioned above before hitting 'post'.

The decision stands and is not open to discussion.

And here I am thinking this belongs in the important information sub forum rather than the general firearms.

It's obviously in the right place, since you read it

It’s like you signed up for the human anatomy class in college but walked into biology. Kinda feels like you’re in the right spot to only learn you are nowhere near the right topic so you leave.

You should really have taken your own advice.

I have been far more patient than usual with your carping about this subject, especially as you do not in fact, have a dog in the fight.

Most of these 'out of place' posts are by people who sign up, throw their question in the first forum they get to, get an answer and vanish, never to be seen again.

Until this policy was put in place I was moving any number of posts, up to 10 a day that the posting member had made no attempt to place in the right forum. Whether you like it or not, the staff of this forum have lives outside of the board and requiring members to read the stickies that are posted for their guidance and post their questions in the appropriate forum is not a lot to ask.

The staff and owners of this forum reserve the right to move, edit, or delete posts at their discretion for any reason, or indeed no reason at all, nor are they obligated to explain their actions to anyone.

This is a privately owned forum and exists solely at the pleasure of the owner. Members who disagree with this policy are at liberty to go elsewhere and join different forums as they see fit. If you don't approve of this practice, then you are at liberty to set up your own forum and run it as you desire.
The policy remains in effect, unless and until the forum owners decide to change it.
