Jewelers Rouge (paste)
« on: October 24, 2006, 02:56:58 PM »
I read somewhere (I believe it may have been on glocktalk), about someone using "jewelers rouge(sp?)" to smooth out the roughness in the trigger pull.  If I remember right they put the rouge on the "contact points" (sear, trigger) and dry-fired the gun 50-100 times, took apart the gun, cleaned off the rouge and oiled it.  Supposedly this smoothed out the trigger.

Has anyone ever tried this?  I had a 75b that had a rough trigger and I'm a-fixin to buy a P-01,  and was thinking about trying this.  I don't feel comfortable trying to polish the points myself, so I was just wondering if this would work.. 8o

Great forum btw.

This is a very fine abrasive.  It is used to polish precious metals (very soft metals) to a mirror finish.  It may take a loooog time for you to smooth your trigger using this alone.  Plus you would have to completely disassemble your pistol to get it all out of all of the parts.
