631 spring?
« on: August 26, 2003, 06:17:20 PM »
Gents,
the 631 is pretty good and accurate gun. Anybody tried to replace the spring for stronger one?
The current velocity is about 600fps but I like to increase it.
            Thanks.

Beware: Certain countries make air rifles with higher velocities fall into the same category as a firearm.:evil

Two Questions.  Did you happen to find the stronger spring for the 631?  I've heard there is one but I'd have to do a bit of digging to come up with the spring.  Second, did you make or are you going to fabricate the spring compressor?

I haven't purchased one yet but here's a link to a post on the Fun Supply Airgun Forum from some who got one and just installed it.

I just checked and he apparently is just selling the springs now but he was selling kit with spring and proper spacer. I have two 631s with his custom brass guides(also, no longer made) in them.

Jim Maccari springs are probably the best that you can buy. I have a kit (spring and spacer) in my 630. And what a difference, more power, and no twang. I have his springs in other guns of mine and find them far superior to factory.KD
