Range Report 75B with 20 lb Wolff Recoil Spring

The gun is a CZ75 B 9mm with Hogue grips.  I replaced the stock recoil spring with 20 lb Wolff.  Racking took three deep breaths and a grunt - I'll get used to it.

There were no malfunctions.  Recoil was almost none.  Couple of rounds of brass landed on my hat brim but the rest landed two or three feet away

My groups tightened up considerably.  I was impressed with myself.  I was shooting Blazer 147 grain at a NRA Slow-Fire 25 yd pistol target at 15 yards.  I fired two 12 round mags.  All rounds but two were in the back.  The two out of the black were in the six ring.

The only problem - me - was that the center of mass for the holes was to the left at about the 8 ring.

I'll figure that out one day.

Bottom line - No problems.

If you are shooting to the left..slow down your trigger and work on smoothness....helped me.  Thats if you are right handed....Shoot well

Don't worry about the effort needed to rack the slide on your 75B. Eventually, you'll develop callouses on the side of your left index finger and be able to rack it painlessly. :)

Thanks - I'll work on the trigger.  The reading I've done told me that trigger pull or squeezing the grip when I squeeze the trigger should be the problem.  Funny thing is when I shoot my 44 revolver I hit dead center.  I do want to make sure it is not me before I make a change to the gun.  Summer is here, the range is 15 minutes from my house, I have a season pass, and I hope to get into a three day a week shooting schedule soon.

Maybe if I rack right handed and get calluses on the right index finger that will help!!!

I'm running the 18lb spring on mine. Although Wolff recommends the strongest spring that functions reliably, that 20 made the slide just too tight for my liking.

I don't know if would help you or not, but when I was shooting low/left, I came across an article that recommended paying careful attention to your pinky since you may squeeze with it a little as you pull the trigger. What I do now is put my right (trigger hand) pinky over my left, and it helps!
