RAMI .40 S&W Range Report

Accuracy

I put 100 rnds of Winchester 165gr FMJ through the
little RAMI without a hitch. Flawless function. I've
never shot a .40 S&W before, but I like it, lots.  It
shoots POA at 10yds, just line up the 3 dots and if I
do my part, I can keep the holes in a 2-3 inch group,
most inside 2".  At 7rds, it shoots a little low if you
just line up the dots (as expected), holding over an
inch or raising the front sight slightly, and all shots
are on target, with most shots touching each other or making a ragged hole.

Recoil

Recoil is about the same as a G26 with  +P+  ammo, but with much less muzzle flip.  It feels like a little more "push", that's the best way to describe it. The .40 S&W is easier to control than the .357Sig round in a G32 or G33, at least in my hands.  It's like shooting my PCR with NATO ammo, I can't tell much difference.  It's definitely easier to control than my PM9 with  +P ammo.

Trigger

The trigger feels great, very smooth, like my PCR.  I suspect it will get even better after 500-700rnds, as my PCR did. I found the best way to shoot it was with the pinky tucked under the mag, as with the G26/G33. I just couldn't keep my pinky from slipping off the front of the mag when I tried a 3 finger grip.  Those with smaller hands may be able to shoot it this way.  But the 2 finger grip was
just fine with me.

I'll try to get a friend to take a pic of a target and post
it in a few days.

CZ did a GREAT job with the RAMI :D

You say the trigger is on a par with the PCR - is this in both DA and SA??

60 rnds White Winchester FMJ, 165gr, No failures

50 rnds Winchester JHP, 180gr, No failures

20 rnds Federal HST3 JHP, 165gr, 2 FTF

I think the Federal HST3 ammo is a precursor of the Hydra Shok, which I found at a discount at my local gun shop.  So I think the 2 FTFs may due to this ammo and not to the RAMI.

I need to try some Gold Dots, and Golden Sabers, and other PD rounds, but for now I'll carry the Winchester JHPs as they seem to feed reliably.

All in all, still great fun to shoot, and very accurate:D
