Adding a comp to a 75SA

Is it possible (and reasonably economical) to add a compt to the barrel of a CZ 75SA?

I'd like a 9mm open gun for the local steel league without spending $1500 to $2000 for a new STI/SVI/Para based open gun.

I though that $400 for the gun + $250 for a comp + $100 for a rail + $150 for trigger/action work would be more affordable.  I've been looking for a used Champion in 9mm but I haven't had any luck.

I had a .40 Champion but wanted 9mm.

I found a used Witness 9mm that already had a single action trigger and competition safety (around $350), bought a like new barrel/comp ($190).  Then I ordered a C-More ($200).  I'm guessing I will have close to $800 in it.

You could do the same with a new Witness but you will have to buy the single action trigger, safety and barrel comp new from EAA.  It will run you about an extra $100 or so.

I ordered the C-More that has the mount built in and that saved a few $$ on the project but limits my ability to use the C-more for other things.

To add a reasonably economical compensator to your 75SA you'd need to start with an extended, threaded barrel.  Bar-Sto is the only company that comes to mind.  Their barrels are $200+ with insane lead times.

It may be possible to get a 9mm Champion barrel and compensator from CZ-USA.  It may not be cheap but I believe it would drop into the slide on your 75SA.  A call to Mike at CZ-USA will confirm or deny this.

Assuming you can get your hands on a threaded barrel, there are lots of 1911 gunsmiths who will build you a custom comp.  Speaking ecnomically though, I would try to get your hands on an EAA comp making sure the threads match your barrel.

Good luck,

Either way around it really is not too economaical eother way you need a gunsmith and the parts. I am trying to pursude factory to mke dedicated top ends but we shall see how that idea works this march when I visit IWA and then the factory

A dedicated top end would be great.  Switch the same frame from production to an open gun in 5 minutes!

Heck with the availability of 26 round magazines, it could be a fun, cheap way to play in open.  I'd buy one.

that would be great if CZ would offer complete topends..

In the Champion ( 9mm, 9x21 ) would be superb...also other topends...40 and 9mm

What about an open top end for the CZ TS?
