CZ Standard Height Fiber Optic Front Sight

Looked at those on your sight.  The one on the picture has the red fiber optic insert.
 
Can this be ordered with the green insert or would I have to order it extra?

Does it come with the little rivet needed for installation or would a gunsmith have those handy?

Yu can ask for green or red I have both.
The sight is dovetailed into the slide and the pin is reuseable.

Angus also sells the fiber on his site.  I suggest to get some when you order the sight (I got 1 red, one green).  I ended up breaking the fiber on my sight during installation, so you'll want the extra.  I also made up several red & green replacements the correct length to keep in my range bag - just in case.  They area ll set to go so all I have to do is insert them and melt the fiber a bit on the muzzle side with a lighter to hold it in.

BTW, the best way I found to cut the fiber optic was to heat a utility knife in a blow torch, then cut/melt through it.

When installing the sight....is it just a matter of knocking the pin out putting the new sight in and knocking it back in or is there more to it?

How long do these inserts last given that I don't break them, do they lose their brightness with time or suffer some other kind of wear?

Esentially you are correct but you will need to cut a slot in the base of the new sight. I push put the pin, push in the new sight and use a small drill and drill thought the hole to create the slot in the underside of the sight.
The fiber do go off. most people change them fairly frequently. It also depends on what you use to clean the gun, we do see spare fiber.

I would say months, depends on how much break cleaner you use and where it goes. Solvents will break down th ejacket of the fiber optic.

My CZ-75 PCR is rigged with PT Nightsights curtosey of Mike at CZ-USA. I'd like to replace the front blade with a fiber sight. But two things.

One, The PT Nightsights sit higher than the stock low-profile sights. So with that, would I have to use the "Custom" rear sight model? or would I stick with the regular "factory" height.

Second, My PCR is my CCW piece. It rides in a HBE Leatherworks Com2 IWB holster. Breakage of the fiber is definately an issue. So, how rugged are they? I saw that HiViz released an enclosed fiber sight for the CZ75 series and wrote a post on the PCR forum about it, but was quickly turned over to Angus' page. So, my question is, should I be concerned with snapping the fiber on my holster?

Sure it is a possibility to brake the fiber, drawng from a holster. I have done several thousand draws from my bladetech and not managed it yet.
I suppose the answer to the question is if it can happen it might happen.

Worst thing would be that would still ahve the black fron sight with a hole in it?

PS Do you know the height of the PT front sight?
IF you remove it from the slide and measure I can tell you what size would be appropriate. If there is a correct one that we make?

Thanks for the Info. I'll do some quick measuring and let you know. Do you do sight installs on stuff sold on your site? I have a hard time trusting gunsmiths in my area since I got burned on the first go-round on my PT Nightsights.
