Hello Garson

I have looked at your pictures once more. There seem to be two different buffers on the market. And two different cuts in the frame to accept the different buffers. You have got the right buffer for your pistol. The gun I use have a slightly smaller cut into the frame to accept a different buffer. Interesting and confusing.

I haven't shot the gun yet Garson.

I've disassembled it, cleaned it and it's ready to go, but for what it cost I figured I'd tune it before running too much through it.

I actually learned of the Sprinco setup on this site and tagged it before I bought the gun with the thought of putting the kit in the gun before I shot it.

For a gun like this, the $100 to reduce recoil and wear and tear is money well spent IMO.

I tend to agree that the wear you show above is not normal but there are people here far more experienced than I on this gun.

In respond to my email about the guide rod problem, Mike the gunsmith at CZ USA sent me back a new guide rod which is longer but thinner than the old one and it has a smaller flange.



The new rod has to be used with the buffer and because of the smaller flange the rod is to be seated to the deeper(smaller) cavity of the frame.

After a test run of 200rds, it just only got a minor mark on the flange and the test went smooth with no more problem.

I think the take-home message for other TS shooters is to check whether the end-flange on the OFM guide rod has the same diameter as the circular rearward protrusion on the buffer (OFM or Buffertech). If the guiderod flange is wider than this protrusion, it will shear off, as shown in the earlier pics.

I talked to a friend, who runs a machine shop, about the metal guide rod for CZ TS.
He made a 2 pieces full length stainless steel one for my TS.
It looks so great and runs so smooth that I think I should share the info. with you guys.

Just wanted to chime in here that I am the new owner of a TS and am amazed at how great a pistol it is (thanks Angus!) but mine started to eat its guiderod as well.  I sent an email to Steve and within two days had his replacement guiderod.  Fantastic service and no more plastic pieces of guiderod floating around in my pistol.
