sister sarah,
Congrats on the purchase!  I really like to shoot my 75B...it probably gets the best work out of any of my 9mm handguns!

Regarding getting it ready to shoot.  You really do not have to do a thing.  Just clear the barrel before you fire.  I know, some will say a thorough cleaning and check-over are in order, but I would not waste a minute doing that when I could go to the range, fire 400 rounds, and THEN clean it!

I too use the Wally World Winchester White Box ammo.  I can buy just a little cheaper sometimes...$109/1,000 delivered WITH no sales tax.... Century Arms sometimes has this deal.
But honestly, I find it pretty easy to go to Wally's World.

Please give us a range report once you have shot your new gun.  We all enjoy hearing the impressions of our fellow shooters!

Please, hang around and become a "regular"!!

Best wishes.

how did you manage to get the 4 boxes at once?  my local wally world limits me to 2 boxes per visit (and i even worked there at one time and know everyone there)... maybe they're afraid i'll go back shooting or something.. lol

where are you that you have such a long wait?  here in pa it took a few minutes and i was out the door with my new cz

I would run a patch through the barrel like VonFatman said. Since the slide is off, I would visually check for sufficient oil on the slide rails and the trigger assembly. I would also test the safeties and trigger while unloaded.

Then load up and have some fun!!!

One more thing, I may get some razzing for this but I read the owner's manual before shooting - the English only. :)

I would dryfire it at least 200 times before I put any ammo through it. This will get rid of some of the gritty feel and make your range session more enjoyable. 8)
