My slide stop/disassembly plunger pin has become smooth through repeated removal and replacement and wont hold tight anymore.  I guess the only thing to do is to put it on the anvil end of my vise and give it a good wack.  Before I do I would like to know if this is correct.  Thanks.

Which model of pistol are you about? (We now cover more than just the CZ 52, so I can't assume that is what the question is about. That goes doubly true because the CZ 52 doesn't have a part called the slide stop/disassembly plunger. Those are separate parts on the CZ 52. Hence my question.)

It's a CZ52.  I was talking about the pin that holds the slide stop and disassembly plunger in.

Ahhh, gotcha. Makarov.com and other on-line gunsmithing supply outfits sell a staking tool to spread the ends of pins like this so they don't slide out of pistol frames. A google search will turn up several you can order.

I went and got a centerpunch yesterday.  Sharpened it a little, and I believe it's working great.

Is the pin literally falling out? If so, you can always use a larger pin. As a retired gunsmith, I still have a bunch of pin stock. I also have two different sized pins in my armorers kit. Is it the longer one or the shorter one? They both appear to be the same diameter. I can cut you a couple from my pin stock so you will have a couple of extras. No charge. OR are you talking about the pin attached to the hold open latch? That one may be larger than I have in my pin stock. Drop me an email and let me know what you are looking for.

I used an allen screw w/a locking nut to replace the pin. Works perfectly now.

Thanks Wallew that's a much appreciated guesture, but I think I've got it figured out.  It seems to be working great now.  It's the pin with a head that actually goes through the front of the slide stop.  No it's not just falling, but it's just loose enough to come out a couple of mm and keep the slide stop from engaging the mag follower so the slide wont catch at last round. I could see where it had been staked twice from the factory, and did it again.

Woadyurt that's a great idea, just sounds like it might be hideous.  No offense.  I'd love to see a pic of both sides, because it sounds very functional all the same.   I'm thinking about replacing, as needed, every pin without a head with roll pins.  I read on here about someone doing it, and it sounds like a great idea.

I got tired of loose pins and the slide stop pin was the worst offender. So, I did the bolt thing. It doesn't look too bad but it works very well. The slide always stays back now. This one also has a Harrington HD firing pin/trigger kit also. Next, some nice sights. I have a regular military issue pistol, too. That one only has one modification, a machined firing pin. I'm going to leave that one alone.

That actually looks pretty good.  I might have to try that next time mine starts pissing me off.

If you are going to use a bolt, then consider a 'button hex head', as it's a little cleaner.  But yours looks great.
