Failure to Extract
« on: December 31, 2007, 07:57:13 PM »
I have recently been pushing some cheap gun show ammo thru my P01 and have experienced a rash of failure to fully extract the round after firing.  I did not have any of this with normal ammo.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Blazer does it, as does some reloads. I use crap ammo for the range, but keep S&B for serious work. S&B is what the factory tests CZ's with.

Gun show reloads? That is the worst form of ammo in the world. I reload my own for range use, and use Remington factory for carry. Try the new Blazer Brass ammo...and send me the brass...

I used to use gun show reloads, but no more...

I've shot every kind of ammo I can think of through my P-01 and I've only had one or two FTEs within the first 500-1000 rounds. After that, I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

un show reloads, unless you're buying from a known reloader with a good reputation is arguably a form of "Russian Roulette."

One guy I know had a Glock 19 blow up in his hand from gun show reloads.

If youy want to shoot a cheaper alternative, check out Georgia Arms (on the web), which offers high-quality reloads and new ammo as good as anything you can get anywhere.

Blazer can cause some extraction problems in CZs, as can Winchester White Box in the value pack. A crappy extractor spring can make things worse, too.

Avoid the gun show reloads... its not worth the risk.

I put a couple boxes of Magtech thru my P01 yesterday and not a hint of a problem.  Just the flawless performance I have come to expect.  Now if i could just aim as well as my pistol shoots!!!
