Chop cut rebuild CZ-52?

Has anyone here tried to cut down the slide on theirs? Make it into a real compact pistol? I'm no smith, but couldn't you hack it all down, crown the shortened barrel, make a simple new muzzle bit and front sight? I'm thinking you'd have to snip down the spring about half between full and compact length. The 52 is really too front heavy to be considered a good compact, otherwise it's thin slide profile with few doohickies make for a pretty bargain defense piece. Plus, 7.62x25 in a snubbie would be tons of plinking fun...

Quit giving me ideas. Actually, you're only going to be able to cut about 2/3 of an inch off of the gun and it still work OK. If you wanna go any shorter, get ready for the gunsmithing project of your life.

If you manage it, put up some pics! I'm sure some of us would pay for you to shorten ours.
